So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12
When I was younger, I used to hear older people say, “Where has all the time gone?” At the time, I didn’t think much about it, but now that I’m nearing my mid 50’s, I can say that I can totally understand what they’re talking about. It’s not really something you can tell people so they will understand, it’s something that has to be experienced to understand. This mortal life is nothing but a vapor.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
You may think 70 or 80 years is a long life, but in actuality, it’s not.
It does seem like only yesterday that my kids were in diapers, but now they’re full grown adults with their own lives and I’m watching my grandchildren running around in diapers.
That being said, we do need to number our days and realize we need to find time to do work for the Lord. One day we will each stand before the Lord and give an account for what we’ve done in this life.
Have you helped the needy or helped feed the poor? Have you helped anyone, even if you think they don’t deserve to be helped? Have you helped lead anyone to the Lord or been a witness for Him? Do you think you’ve earned any crowns; and if you have, are you prepared to cast those crowns at the feet of Jesus?
I don’t know what anyone has done, I’m just asking the questions. I have to answer for myself and you will answer for yourself. But as a Watchman, I need to sound a warning. I believe that time is short. I believe that The Groom is soon to return for His Bride. I’m really asking this more for myself than anyone else… Just think about it.
Until next time…
