A lot of people don’t believe that we’re living in the latter days, but I for one, believe that we ARE. There are many reasons why I believe this, but today, I just want to touch on one… The Nation Israel.
Read Ezekiel 37 about the valley of dry bones, and how those dry bones come back to life and flesh returns to the bones. This is Ezekiel seeing the Jews returning to the land, even after being scattered throughout the Earth for nearly 2000 years.
Isaiah 66:8 speaks of a nation being born in a day. That is exactly what happened to Israel on May 14, 1948. There’s been over 5 million (and some estimate nearer to 6 million) Jews return to the land since 1948, bring the Jewish beliefs, culture and Hebrew language with them. This is historically unprecedented.
For almost 1900 years, the land of Israel was nearly uninhabited, a desolate waste land. God declared this in Deuteronomy 29:23-28 and Ezekiel 36:33-36. Now, the land is one of the world’s leading exporters of flowers, ornamental plants, and produce.
He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. -Isaiah 27:6
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God. -Isaiah 35:1-2
The land was also barren and had no trees. Today, the Jews have planted trees everywhere and they are thriving. The land has experienced a complete turn-around since the Jewish people have returned and the Scripture teaches that this would only happen in the latter days.
Scripture also refers to the fig tree putting forth leaves while it is tender and this being a sign that summer is nigh. (Matthew 24: 32-33) The fig tree and tender branches represents the young nation of Israel. Israel is only 65 years old- it’s still young as a nation. So we can expect that summer (or the latter days) are near, “even at the door.”
These are only a few of the prophecies that The Bible mentions of the latter days. There are many more. With that being said, I am convinced that we are at the end of the ‘age of grace’ and that Jesus is soon to return for His bride. If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, now is the time to get saved!!!
Until next time…
