What are you looking at?

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isaiah 45:22

Recently, I saw a movie about Charles Spurgeon. The simple passage above is the message that lead him to Christ.

By reading this passage, you can see how easy it is to be saved. As the preacher said, all you have to do is LOOK. You don’t have to pick anything up, you don’t have to work, all you have to do is look. You don’t have to have a college education or be a so-called “intelect” to see… you simply have to look.

We don’t look to ourselves.

We don’t look to education.

We don’t look to money.

We don’t look to other people.

All of these will fail you and let you down.

We look to Jesus Christ for our salvation. Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” He is the one we look to, and none else.

I think people have a tendency to try to do more than just accept Christ and to be saved. We don’t have to work any type of penance. Doing good deeds and being good will not save you. But, if we look to Christ and accept what He did for us at Calvary and confess and repent of our sins, we will be saved.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

With that said, you may notice… the first thing you have to do is LOOK!

 Just something to think about.

 Until next time…
