Who’s your father? Who’s your leader?

Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Matt 23: 1-12

 I have a couple questions:

Who calls their religious leaders “father’?

Who calls their religious leaders “rabbi”?

For the first time in United States history The Pope will address Congress.

Pope Francis will be here, just days from now, and stand before our Congress (and cameras broadcasting to millions) to hear his commentary on the events of our day.

More than 1 Billion people world wide (an estimated 6% of the world’s population) look to The Pope as their spiritual leader and ultimate religious authority.

But, just to set the record straight, I DON’T.

The Catholic Church sets up their priests as the forgivers of sins, calling them ‘Father’ and the priests’ authority is headed by the Pope. Verse 9 states above that we (Christians) are to call no man father. There is no earthly authority that can forgive our sins; no mere man that we are to confess our sins to, and there is no need for a supreme earthly religious authority that Christians are to answer to.

The same goes for any group or denomination that sets up any man as an authority.

Rabbi means teacher or master.

Jesus is our master. According to John 14:26,  The Holy Spirit is our teacher. There is no man with any title or Master’s Degree that makes them more of an authority than Jesus or His Word. We are not to answer to earthy men, we answer to God, the True Supreme Authority.

As we see in the scripture above, those who allow their followers to exalt them to such positions are in direct opposition to The Word.

It’s funny that Congress will hear what The Pope has to say… Maybe they should be more concerned with what Christ has to say.

Christian’s… This is Your Wake-up Call!!!

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:4-6

I would suggest that you go to the Rapture Ready website and read Donna Wasson’s new article.

It’s very enlightening to say the least.

But, to put it in a nutshell…

It appears that our elected officials allowed Muslims to have prayer and hold service on the floor of our congress. Then they allowed the Muslims to defile our National Cathedral by allowing and encouraging “worship service” there.

The National Cathedral is known as our national house of prayer. These Muslims placed their prayer rugs down, facing Mecca, with their backs turned to the crosses that were on the walls because they find the crosses offensive.

This is all done in the name of religious/ political correctness. They say we all pray to the same god. I assure you, I don’t pray to the moon god.

I am happy to hear about some who will stand against this abomination!

Franklin Graham, on his Facebook page states,

“It’s sad to see a church open its doors to the worship of anything other than the ONE True God of the Bible, Who sent His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins.”

And Walid Shoebat described it this way…

“To all who get excited at the Republican Victory, watch your idol kings and your high priests in their cathedrals all burned incense to Ba’al. They all bow at the sound of the name of Allah. They all sleep with Islam, the harlot of Arabia.”

I was glad to see at least one Christian make a stand. Just as the Imam was about to start the “service,” Christine Weick, a 50 year old woman, rose up in the midst of the so called “prayer service” and shouted,

“Jesus Christ died on that cross. He is the reason we are to worship only Him. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior”

(As she was being escorted out!)

This is far more serious than some Christians think it is. We are not to mix other religions with Christianity! We DON’T pray to the same god. And we’re not supposed to be tolerant of other religions and especially not let them worship in our churches.

I believe, if we continue down this path, we are going to suffer the consequences… in the form of judgment and persecution. So, if you’re a true Christian, GET READY!!! Make sure you’re grounded in the Word of God.

Just something to think about.

The Wrath of God

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;  And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.  And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 6:12-17

A lot of people are quick to quote that “God is love”. They aren’t as eager to talk about Him as an “all consuming fire.”

In the scripture reference above, we read just one example of what is coming for those who do not trust Jesus Christ as their Lord. Read the text carefully, and then think about it for a minute or two. Can you imagine MOUNTAINS and islands being moved?!? That’s an earthquake that the Richter Scale couldn’t measure!

What do the “prosperity preachers” say about verses like this? Do they even talk about it? Does YOUR pastor ever talk about this?

Many pastors won’t touch the subject, and many in their congregations don’t want to hear it. But, just because no one talks about it doesn’t mean it won’t happen!

Yes, God IS love. Yes, God loves everybody… but He hates sin! That means that a person can’t remain in sin. If you’re a homosexual you would have to stop living that lifestyle. If you are an adulterer, then you have to stop living in adultery. If you are a liar, a thief, a murderer… (I think you get my point), YOU CAN’T CONTINUE IN YOUR SIN!

If we do continue in sin, what’s described in this passage is just a small portion of what we have to look forward to.

Don’t take my word for it; open the Bible and read it for yourself.

BUT, there is a way out…

IF you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will be covered by His blood. You can be saved for all eternity. That’s more important to me than a few more fleeting years living in sin.

The decision is yours. The Bible says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Today is the day to make the decision; don’t wait until it’s too late.

PS- Pray for the 40,000 people stranded on a mountain in Iraq. They are Christians and other religious minorities, starving and thirsting to death. ISIS (the Islamic State) has them trapped without food or water in blistering heat. If something isn’t done, this will be a massacre.

Just something to think about.

Until next time…

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

See Revelation 6:1-8 here…

I don’t believe that the four horsemen of the apocalypse have been let loose yet. I believe that they will not come until The Church has been taken out of here (as in, after the Rapture.)

But with that said, I believe we can see on the news what it’s going to be like when the horsemen are let loose… only then it will be on a much larger scale.

The first horseman (on a white horse) could be the Antichrist, the one that will come to conquer. But, he’s not made his appearance just yet.

The second horseman (red horse) will come to take peace form the earth.  I believe if you watch the news, you can see how peace is being taken little by little. Israel and Hamas, Isil in Iraq, and the terrorist group Boko Haram in Africa… these are just a few examples of what’s happening around the world. And don’t be fooled, these terrorist groups are cold blooded killers. I’ve seen videos of Isil killing truck loads of people in Iraq; and they kill without even batting an eye.

The next horseman is on a black horse bringing economic collapse. In the next few years, we may see the dollar collapse. People may lose their retirement or 401Ks. We’re already starting to see prices on goods and services go up. That doesn’t look like it’s going to get better, but worse.

The final horseman rides a pale horse, bringing pestilence and famine. Recent headlines tell of a flesh–eating bacteria found in Florida and an Ebola outbreak in Africa (killing around 800 people so far.) According to other articles, HIV is still a growing problem.

If you take all the all of this and add the bird, fish and other animal die-offs, earthquakes, volcanoes, sink holes, and extreme weather, you may think the horsemen have already been let loose. But, compared to what’s actually coming with the horsemen, these are just the tip of the iceberg.

Well, don’t be… there’s a way out.

The Bible says, that we, His Church, are not appointed to wrath (1 Thes. 5:9). Also read Revelation 3:10

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

I believe that true Christians will be taken out of here before the Tribulation starts.

In the Gospels, Jesus said that as we near the Tribulation, things will get worse. He compared it to a woman in labor. The closer she gets to giving birth, the stronger the pain becomes. So, I believe what we are seeing are the “labor pains.”

A Thorn in The Flesh…

“there was given to me a thorn in the flesh…” 2 Corinthians 12:7

Have you ever had a thorn or splinter in your flesh?  Just a tiny little speck  can aggravate you to death until you get it out. Writing to the Corinthians here, Paul was talking about a “thorn in the flesh;” some irritation that was placed on him. In his case, whatever the aliment was, it was given to him to be a reminder not to be proud and boast in himself.

Though this is the scripture I’m referring to, we’re going to look at the flip side.

As Christians, WE can be a thorn in the flesh of the world! And, by the way, I would wear this as a badge of honor for Jesus Christ. What I mean is… as long as “the Church” is on this earth, we will be a thorn, an irritation, to the lost world as long as we believe and preach Christ and His Word.

As an example, we will never accept or endorse the homosexual lifestyle. Also, we will never accept and endorse abortion; or any other type of sin, regardless of what it is.

The Bible teaches us that we are to put on the ‘whole armor of God’ to guard ourselves from the “fiery darts” of the enemy. I think it’s time for the Church to start firing back. Drawing a line in the sand is a way we fire back. Standing on God’s Word is a way we fire back. And SPEAKING God’s Word is a way we fire back. Standing up, and not yielding to society is how we fire back.

That being said, I like what happened with Phil Robertson. Good ol’ Phil!

Phil reminds me of an Old Testament prophet in his appearance, or even like John the Baptist… The long hair, the long beard. They told it like it was, whether it was course or not. They didn’t apologize for what they said and believed, and neither has Phil.

Now, I’m not putting Phil on a pedestal or equating him with John the Baptists or the Prophets. He’s just a man that’s standing on God’s word. But He is a type of thorn in the flesh to the world. Look how much of an uproar that one Christian man caused. Just imagine if 30 million true Christians would make a stand!

The thing is, Christians can’t worry about being popular or accepted by the world. It’s not going to happen. Jesus said, they hated Him and they’ll hate us. Phil knows, just like all Christians should know, that money and popularity is not nearly as important as stand for God. (You can’t serve God and Mammon. -Matthew 6:24)

I don’t believe that a true Christian will ever be happy in Hollywood. They would have to compromise too much. The two just can’t go together. That’s just my opinion and I hope that the world would be tolerant of it!

Just something to think about.

Until next time…

Politically Incorrect???

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32

Have you ever stopped to think about WHO we are giving thanks to at Thanks giving? Well, if some of you don’t know who we’re giving thanks to, let me set the record straight…

WE’RE GIVING THANKS TO GOD FOR ALL THE MANY BLESSINGS HE HAS GIVEN US!!! Most of all we’re giving thanks to God for what His Son did for us at Calvary.

Now, let’s deal with Christmas.

I want you to know that I am NOT politically correct when it comes to Christmas. I’m not a politician and I’m not one of the Hollywood elite. I don’t have much money. So basically, I don’t have anything to lose. Even my life is not my own, it belongs to God. So, I’ll be calling this the Christmas season and the holiday I celebrate is Christmas… (notice the emphasis!?!)

Christmas is the Christians’ holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. If you ask people, including Christians, about the true meaning of Christmas, they may include family, friends, and love. But, Christmas is ALL ABOUT the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It appears that certain politicians would like to take Christ out of this season. No more nativity scenes on public grounds; after all, we are no longer considered a ‘Christian Nation’… That’s a bunch of hogwash!!! I believe this IS still a Christian Nation. Just because some politician and Hollywood say it’s not doesn’t mean it’s true. They want to take the name “Christmas” away because they’re worried about offending others. That, too, is a bunch of hogwash!

Honestly, if you’re offended by my stance on Christmas or you don’t like it, I DON’T CARE… don’t read my blog!

So in closing, I call all Christians to arms (LOL). Everyone that would, put a nativity scene in your yard where it can be seen. Don’t say “Happy Holidays,”… say “Merry Christmas. ” And be sure to emphasis Jesus Christ this season (and make the haters lose a little sleep!)

That being said… Merry CHRISTmas to all, and to all a good night!

Until next time…

Prepping for the Future…

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:31-34

Look around at YouTube long enough and you’ll find a host of “preppers.” These are people preparing for a future disastrous event, whether it be government take over, financial collapse, natural mega-disaster and the list goes on. They teach you how to store food, guns and ammunition. They tell you about having a “bug out bag” ready so you are ready to leave at a moment’s notice.

Now, I’m not knocking these people or anyone that is storing up for ‘whatever.’ I believe it’s alright to have a couple of months of food set back. If some type of natural disaster hits, it may be good to have some beans and rice set back or something to that effect. But, I don’t believe that if something major happens (like the government turning against it’s people) that we’ll be able to store enough food and water to survive very long. Just as an example, if you’re out running through the woods and fighting and doing hard-core physical labor or exercise, you would have to have at least a gallon of water a day, just to drink.  So how would a person be able to “bug-out” with enough water for 2 or 3 days ? During WWII, there was a resistance movement. The Jews that took to the woods weren’t able to take enough food and water with them. They had to rely on the farmers in the area for help. They told about how hard it was to find enough water to live.

If you’re into this kind of stuff… more power to you. But I’d like to tell you another way to prepare for the future. Jesus tells us to store up our treasures in Heaven. We should be prepping for the return of Jesus. We should have our spiritual bug-out bag ready to leave at a moment’s notice. If someone comes to you for food, are you going to turn them away? Are you going to stick a 12-gauge shotgun in their face and tell them to leave or they’ll die? That is not the example that Jesus gives.

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Matthew 5:39-41

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Matthew 26:52

The Bible also teaches us that we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Could you, as a Christian, turn people away and have a clear conscience about it?  If you don’t show mercy, how do you expect to be shown mercy? If we don’t show compassion, how can we be shown compassion?

We could go on and on about this from both sides, it all boils down to this… We need to be ready to meet the Lord, and once we’ve made that preparation, we should tell others how to prepare as well. We are also to be used as Jesus’ hands and feet to help meet the needs of others. That is how we store up for our future, or “lay up treasures in Heaven”.

When we stand before Jesus, will we say’ “Lord, I helped my neighbor;” or are we going to say’ “Lord, I stuck a shotgun in his face and ran him off because I was afraid I was going to go hungry.” Just something to think about.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Matthew 25:41-46
